14 Ohio job-creation projects granted tax credits: See the list - cleveland.com

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio approved tax credits Monday for 14 projects that would create more than 1,800 jobs; one compay in Richfield promises more than 200 new positions.


The projects are expected to lead to more than $230 million in investment and add more than $76 million in new payroll across the state.  


JobsOhio, the non-profit private corporation that works with the state on job development, recommended the projects to the Ohio Tax Credit Authority. The credits are performance based and can only be used as the jobs are actually created.  


Here's a breakdown of the projects by region: 


Northeast Ohio  


National Interstate Insurance Co., Richfield: The company expects to create 217 full-time jobs, generating $13.9 million a year in new payroll while retaining $33 million in existing payroll. The specialty property and casualty insurance company was granted a 2.02 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit.  


PRIME AE Group Inc., Akron: 25 new full-time jobs worth $2.3 million in annual payroll, new offices in Akron, 1.574-percent, five-year tax credit. The company provides professional services in architecture, engineering, construction management and technology.  


RelateCare, Cleveland: 50 new full-time jobs worth $2 million in annual payroll, $520,000 in retained payroll. RelateCare, which provides patient access and patient engagement solutions for hospital call centers, received a five-year, 1.305-percent tax credit.


Northwest Ohio 


Credit Adjustments Inc.: 80 new full-time jobs worth $3.1 million in annual, $2.7 million in retained payroll. Credit Adjustments Inc., a third-party call center company, will expand in Defiance with a six-year, 1.158-percent tax credit.


Central Ohio 


Exel Inc., Obetz: 400 new full-time jobs worth $13.3 million in annual payroll. Exel, doing business as DHL Supply Chain, provides procurement, manufacturing, assembly, finished goods warehousing, transportation and e-commerce fulfillment services. It won a six-year, 1.485-percent tax credit.


U.S. Bank National Association, Columbus: 60 new full-time jobs worth $3.8 million in annual payroll, $938,000 in retained payroll. U.S. Bank, a federally chartered U.S. national banking association, won an eight-year, 1.618-percent tax credit. 


Zaner-Bloser Inc., Grandview Heights: 25 new full-time jobs worth $1.3 million in annual payroll, $4.3 million in retained payroll. The academic publisher won a five-year, 1.103-percent credit.  


Western Ohio 


Dmax Ltd., Moraine: 150 new full-time jobs worth $4.4 million in annual payroll, $35 million in payroll retained. The diesel engine manufacturer won a six year, 0.926-percent tax credit.


Frontier Technology Corp., Beavercreek: 45 new full-time jobs worth $4.1 million in annual payroll, $2.5 million in payroll retained. The company provides data research, IT services and software products to customers in the defense industry. It won a seven-year, 1.772-percent tax credit.


Silfex Inc., Eaton: 109 new full-time jobs worth $5 million in annual payroll, $20 million in retained payroll. Silfex provides high-purity custom silicon components and assemblies for high technology markets. It won a seven-year, 1.321-percent tax credit.


Tenneco Automotive Operating Co., Kettering: 483 new full-time jobs worth $15.8 million in annual payroll, $22.8 million in retained payroll, expansion project in Kettering. The automotive ride control company won a nine-year, 1.724-percent tax credit.


Southwest 


MTK Inc., Cincinnati: 35 new full-time jobs worth $1.5 million in annual payroll, $3.9 million in retained payroll, expansion project. MTK is an independent laboratory that provides testing and quality assurance services for foods, beverages, flavorings, pharmaceuticals and water products. It won a six-year, 1.064-percent credit.


Location to be determined 


Reveelium Inc.: 15 new full-time jobs worth $975,000 in annual payroll. Reveelium analyzes cyber system events daily and logs in real time. It won a seven-year, 1.135-percent credit. 


Wasserstrom Holdings Inc., 120 new full-time jobs worth $4.8 million in annual payroll, $49.5 million in retained payroll. The restaurant supplier won a six-year, 1.085-percent tax credit.
