Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato perform onstage during their concert for Marriott Rewards members at JW Marriott Los Angeles at L.A. LIVE on Sept. 22, 2016 in Los Angeles.
“This year's all about a big reunion,” Lovato tells Billboard before private show with Joe Jonas' band for Marriott Rewards Members.
Downtown Los Angeles hosted an epic block party on Thursday night, thanks to musical hosts Demi Lovato and DNCE.
A portion of L.A. Live was shut down for a private concert just for Marriott Rewards Members featuring the two superstar acts. "We have iconic venues like the Staples Center behind us and we’re getting to play outside in downtown L.A. and play kind of our own block party,” DNCE frontman Joe Jonas told Billboard before the show.

DNCE kicked off the night with songs from their EP SWAAY before doing a mash-up of TLC’s “No Scrubs” and Drake's “Hold on, We’re Going Home” and closing with breakthrough single “Cake by the Ocean,” which hit the Billboard Hot 100 top 10, peaking at No. 9.
Lovato hit the stage next, singing hits like “Confident” and “Stone Cold” before bringing DNCE back out to join them on latest single “Toothbrush.”
The singer stayed noticeably stiff behind the microphone stand for a majority of her set before revealing that she wasn’t walking around because of a recent sprained ankle. The sprain didn’t stop her from performing in thigh-high heeled boots, however, as she refused to perform in flats.

Lovato went on to perform a cover of what she called one of her favorite songs, Adele’s “When We Were Young," before closing her set with “Cool for the Summer" -- on the first official day of fall, no less.
“This year's all about a big reunion,” Lovato told Billboard before the show, discussing her recently wrapped tour with Nick Jonas and getting to perform with Camp Rock co-star and ex-boyfriend Joe. “Getting back together and getting to perform with Joe is awesome."
