Lil Wayne's upcoming memoir Gone 'Til November paints a vivid portrait of what daily life was like in New York City's notorious Rikers Island prison system. The 33-year-old rapper, born Dwayne Carter Jr., served an eight-month sentence in 2010 for charges stemming from weapons possession.

The book is taken from his personal prison diary, which chronicles everything from daily meals and preferred television viewing to relationships with fellow inmates. At one point he even officiated an impromptu wedding. "Imagine seeing grown-ass men in jail hanging tissue for wedding decorations," he writes. "AND one of them is Lil Wayne. Crazy."

Wayne also described a visit from his girlfriend, whom he requested wear a dress sans undergarments so she could "do a 'Basic Instinct.'" Unfortunately, Weezy's plans were foiled by the prison authorities. "They have extensive-ass searches before you come in here, so they made her put on a pair of boxers because they knew she didn't have on panties. Damn!"

High profile visitors including P. Diddy and Kanye West also had to endure full body pat-downs. Drake also made an appearance, but the reunion with his Young Money labelmate proved bittersweet after it was revealed that Wayne's girlfriend had slept with him.

"Finding out that she f---ed Drake was the absolute worst thing I could have found out. Drizzy came to see me, he was like, 'Yeah, it's true'. Damn! This is the type of s--- a man never wants to find out while he is locked up." (A rep for Drake declined comment to PEOPLE.)

Gone 'Til November hits shelves on Oct. 11.
