The Olympics are officially here! On Friday evening, the Rio Games kicked off with its Opening Ceremony, where millions of viewers showed support for their respective countries — and team USA walked in their most patriotic attire, complete with a light-up jacket for the flagbearer. And since then, our eyes have been glued to the TV, where we’ve been keeping up with all of our favorite athletes and their incredible red-white-and-blue style. From Michael Phelps’ decked-out American flag headphones to Serena Williams’ red, white and blue scrunchie, we’ve rounded up the top style moments to check out from the Games, below!
Michael Phelps’ Royal Blue Beats
Michael Phelps took home the top prize for his part in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay Sunday night, but right before hitting the pool, the gold medalist zoned out and zenned out with a pair of American flag-adorned royal blue headphones (blasting, according to the New York Times, Eminem, Young Jeezy and Eric Church).
One tiny problem: Apparently those patriotic logos were meant to cover the “BEATS” logo on the royal blue headphones … which he did only semi-successfully. But, hey, we appreciate the effort — especially since it apparently powered him to swim to his first gold of the meet. (P.S. Wondering about those circular bruises on his bod? Boomer Phelps, the Cutest Cheering Section
While Phelps and his team won the gold medal for the 4×100 freestyle relay, his family, including his adorable baby son Boomer, was seen proudly cheering on the swimmer from the stands. And though the whole family rocked their best red, white and blue, it was hard to top Boomer’s star-print sling.

Tennis pro Serena Williams is fighting for the top spot in today’s Olympic games, but over the weekend, during a doubles match with her sister, Venus, the athlete brought a bit of patriotism to the court with an adorable American flag-themed scrunchie.
Wait, didn’t catch that last part? Allow us to repeat that: Williams single-handedly brought back the nostalgia-inducing hair accessory trend for one of the biggest competitions in the world — and she rocked it.
And on top of making a major fashion statement with her choice of ponytail accessory, the tennis star managed to finish an entire game with a fresh red, white and blue manicure without a single chip. If that’s not #skills, we don’t know what is. (It may be a small consolation prize for her major doubles upset in the first round.)

Ryan Lochte’s Short-Sleeve Hoodie
The United States’ swim team put their own spin on James Cordens’ famous Carpool Karaoke videos right before the Rio Games kicked off.
There’s a lot to process in the clip — the lobster costumes! The coning gag! Michael Phelps getting a call from his mom! April Ross’ Sentimental Necklace
The beach volleyball silver medalist recently shared one of her most-prized pieces of jewelry — a silver key that hangs from her neck, which was given to her by her volleyball partner, gold medalist Kerri Walsh-Jennings.
“This key, everybody thinks it’s my house key, but it’s not — it’s a Giving Key[s] and it says ‘Dream’ on it,” she explained. “Kerri gave it to me at the beginning of our partnership because she’s huge on dreaming big and going for what you want.”
She continued, adding: “She just wanted me to think about what our dreams are, winning gold in Rio, every day of our partnership and every day we play. I actually wear it when I play, even though it’s so long. It hits me in the face sometimes, but it’s worth it.”

Usually among the teams with the most impressive outfits, Nigeria arrived to the Olympics’ Opening Ceremony on Friday in matching white-and-green … tracksuits.
Most known for their diverse and cultural ensembles, Nigeria sent fans into a frenzy on Twitter after they marched into the arena without their traditional costumes. But, according to Sports Illustrated, there was a reason behind the matching sweats — the team’s official outfits didn’t arrive to Rio in time.
While it’s definitely a major bummer that the team’s official outfits didn’t make it to Rio, we’ve got to give them credit for their stand-out bright neon sneakers.
