DJ Khaled, Matt Damon, Pretty Little Liars and Grace Helbig are among the names being recognized on the list of nominations for the 6th Annual Streamy Awards announced Wednesday.
At a ceremony in Santa Monica, Calif., comedian and YouTube personality GloZell Green helped announce the nominees for Tubefilter and Dick Clark Productions. Green will host the awards which take place Oct. 4 in Beverly Hills.
With four nominations each, channel and series Epic Rap Battles of History and Oscar’s Hotel for Fantastical Creatures are up for the most awards. Helbig, Casey Neistat, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, fouseyTube, Miss 2059 and Roman Atwood all received three nominations each.
DJ and producer DJ Khaled is up for an award in the Snapchat storyteller category along with Pretty Little Liars. Rounding out the nominees in that category are Cameron Dallas, Julieanna Goddard and Shaun “Shonduras” McBride.
In the social good campaign category, Matt Damon Pranks People with Surprise Bourne Spy Mission, for Water.org, is up for an award.
New and updated awards this year include virtual reality and 360° video, which recognizes the use of the latest technology; live, which honors shows, channels and events happening in real time; and feature, which acknowledges creator-driven, feature-length movies.
“This year’s Streamy nominees represent the most diverse range of creators the Streamy Awards have ever seen, with stars on new and emerging platforms,” Streamy Awards founder Drew Baldwin said in a statement released Wednesday. “Creators have reached new heights in how they captivate, inspire, educate, and entertain us—with new technologies, new formats and new ways to engage with their communities. We’re honored to be celebrating these achievements with such a brilliant class of creative people.”
The nominees for two fan-voted awards — Entertainer of the Year and Show of the Year — are yet to be announced. Fans will be able to vote for their favorite finalists in these categories leading up to the live ceremony.
Streamy Award winners will be determined by a group of creators, executives, and other experts in the online video industry.
