Fan Honors Dierks Bentley's Beloved Jake with Incredible Painting - Wide Open Country

[ad_2]

Last month, Dierks Bentley shared the heartbreaking news that his beloved dog, Jake, had passed away. Fans from all over sent their condolences to the country singer, but one young fan went above and beyond.

Earlier this week, Bentley posted a beautiful painting of his dog Jake on his Twitter page. The painting was almost identical to the real life photo he shared to announce Jake’s passing. From the floppy ears, fluffy white coat, right down to the collar, Jake comes across in the most perfect detail.

Along with the photo, Bentley wrote a heartfelt thank you to 14-year-old Sydney Lawton, the young artist behind the painting.

Jake was fifteen when he passed away in July from cancer. He played an essential part in both Dierks’ personal life and his career. After Jake died, Bentley performed live tributes to his late companion in Tampa, Fla. and Charlotte, N.C. Bentley’s new record, Black, honors Jake with the special song, “Can’t Be Replaced.”

“For fifteen years right by my side / From a single man to three kids and a wife / Friends come and go, but when it comes to Jake / There’s some things that can’t be replaced.”

The painting is a sweet gesture and heartfelt keepsake to add to Bentley’s collection. It’s a gift that he will surely cherish as he grieves the loss of his beloved companion.
