LeBron James didn’t waste any time signing his new contract.

A day after agreeing to a deal that can pay him $100 million over the next three seasons, the Cavaliers superstar signed it yesterday and will make $31 million next season.

James, who can become a free agent in the third season, will make $33 million in 2017-18, said a source, who added that James’ 2018-19 option is worth $36 million.

In his third season back in Cleveland, James led the Cavs to the NBA title, the first for one of the city’s three professional sports teams since the Browns won the NFL championship in 1964.

The Cavs rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the finals to stun Golden State, winning Game 7 on the road. Late in that game, James raced back to block a shot by Andre Iguodala, a rejection that has become the signature play of the three-time champion’s career.

James, who spent most of his time since winning his third title in Los Angeles, posted a photo of him signing the deal on his Instagram account with the caption “Committed!!” He’s seated next to agent and close friend, Rich Paul.

A four-time MVP and 12-time All-Star, James averaged 25.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.8 assists last season. The 31-year-old said on a Twitter posting he’s focused on the Cavs defending their title.

Appearing in his sixth straight finals last season, James averaged 29.7 points, 11.3 rebounds, 8.9 assists and 2.3 blocks, becoming the first player to lead a series in every major statistical category. . . .

TNT is adding a Monday night doubleheader package to its NBA coverage, starting with an NBA Finals rematch on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Cavaliers will visit e Golden State on Jan. 16, with the Oklahoma City Thunder facing the Los Angeles Clippers in the late game.

Golf: Sindelar in Open lead

Former Ohio State player Joey Sindelar shot a 4-under 66 to take the second-round in the U.S. Senior Open in Upper Arlington, Ohio.

One of four former Buckeyes in the field, Sindelar had five birdies, including two in a row after a bogey on No. 5. He had a 5-under 135 total after opening with 69.

Billy Mayfair, in his first sernior start, was a stroke back after a 67.

First-round leader Vijay Singh followed his opening 66 with a 75 to drop into a tie for eighth at 1 over.

John Daly had an 81 to miss the cut. He had three double bogeys, six bogeys and a birdie. . . .

Wesley Bryan took the lead in the rain-delayed John Deere Classic, five days after earning a PGA Tour card with his third Web.com Tour victory of the year.

Bryan played 26 holes in 10 under yesterday at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., birdieing three of the final holes to finish off a first-round 66 and shooting a 64 in the second to reach 12-under 130.

Steve Marino was a stroke back after rounds of 66 and 65.

Names: Ex-NFLer in trouble

Former NFL player Barret Robbins, with a history of mental illness, has been charged with assaulting a woman and her daughter outside a Florida hotel in Boca Raton.

Palm Beach County court documents show the 42-year-old Robbins is facing two felony battery counts. after allegedly approaching the woman and her daughter randomly outside the hotel Monday and began punching them repeatedly. Robbins then sat down on a bench.

Robbins was an All-Pro center for the Oakland Raiders who missed the team’s 2003 Super Bowl game after disappearing the day before. He was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder.In 2005, he was shot several times during a brawl with police in Miami Beach and pleaded guilty to five charges. . . .

Lionel Messi reconsidered his decision to quit international soccer and will continue playing for Argentina’s national team. Messi is returning despite “a lot of problems” involving the country’s federation, which is mired in financial chaos and under FIFA intervention. Messi said he was done after Argentina lost to Chile in the Copa America final in June, when the Barcelona playmaker missed a penalty kick in the decisive shootout. . . .
