Ever since Nicki Minaj, 33, and Safaree Samuels ended their relationship in 2014, they’ve had their fair share of back-and-forths in the press and on social media. In addition to that, “The Pinkprint” creator blasted Samuels when she learned that he sued her for emotional and physical abuse.
In a tweet sent on Friday, Samuels said he could dismiss his ill feelings for his ex and forgive her but she would need to do one thing first. “If she put her pride to the side, yes,” he wrote after one of his Twitter followers asked if he could be friends with the “Anaconda” rapper again.

If you remember, Minaj seemed shocked when she heard of the lawsuit and suggested the “Burner” creator simply didn’t want to get a job. “Two years later, this poor excuse of a man is suing me and claiming to have been physically and emotionally abused,” she tweeted in May. “He’s so miserable … Look at what men have become, so that they don’t have to work. Fathers, please stay in your son’s lives.”
Minaj also claimed that Samuels was jealous of her relationship with Meek Mill, which he denied. In addition, Samuels said he didn’t file a suit on his ex because if he did, it would have been much bigger news. “If I filed a lawsuit for something that high profile, it would be all over,” he said in June on TMZ’s Rock Rants. “I’m far from miserable … I am not bitter. I have no idea what’s going on.”
It’ll be interesting to see if Meek Mill contacts Samuels in some way, because according to Minaj, he told him many times to leave her alone. “My man asked him to stop emailing me. I also asked him several times,” she tweeted in May. “This man can’t move on. It’s really sad. I have the emails to prove it.”
The last time the public knew about a back-and-forth between Samuels and the Philly rapper was last year, when they exchanged disses through their battle songs. The Brooklyn MC first released “Lifeline,” then Meek Mill delivered “Wanna Know,” where he also blasted Drake.
