Twenty One Pilots Tyler Joseph Pens Heartfelt Letter to Fans - Radio.com Music and Entertainment News

While in New York for their final EMØTIØNAL RØADSHØW concerts of the season; a two-night stint at the famed Madison Square Garden, Twenty One Pilots’ Tyler Joseph paused to post a note aimed squarely at fans.

The frontman explained that although he’s been quiet on social media as of late, it’s because he’s been working so furiously on the band’s live shows. But Joseph did not mince words. He’s doing it all for the fans.

Over the course of this year’s extensive arena tour, Tyler and his bandmate Josh Dunn have been thrust into stardom.

“Because we are “famous” now we have to do all kinds of interviews with random people,” says Tyler in the letter. “But the thing that those people always ask us about is you guys. It’s my favorite type of question because I love to brag about you.” Tyler continues about his fans, known as the Skeleton Clique; “If you guys continue to look out for each other, support each other’s art, and stay together you’ll be unstoppable. “And the distance is just a season. More shows to come, more songs to write. Only for you guys. |-/”

Dissecting Tyler’s note, it’s possible he’s referring to an open letter to fans earlier this year where one Skeleton Clique member implored other fans to stick together. “This band is not yours, it’s ours. Not everyone in the clique is guilty of this selfish mentality,” says Mark, who’s grown tired of fans getting upset over the group’s success.

And, Tyler’s reference to the distance just being “a season away” likely refers to the next leg of their U.S. tour, kicking off in January 2017—just a season away.

i will never forget this tour. the first installment of the emøtiønal røadshow will forever be a part of who i am as an artist, a friend, a performer, a fan. you guys know how to put on a show. so if you watched from a distance, checked in online or helped hold us up in the pit: thank you. because we are "famous" now we have to do all kinds of interviews with random people but the thing that those people always ask us about is you guys. it's my favorite type of question because i love to brag about you. i know i may have been distant online recently but i can only take that kind of break to focus on doing shows because i know you guys always hold it down, keep the fire burning, keep tending to that flame. if you guys continue to look out for each other, support each other's art, and stay together you'll be unstoppable. and the distance is just a season. more shows to come, more songs to write. only for you guys. |-/
