Rumor has it Adele is too pricey for Pippa Middleton

The socialite, 33, hoped to hire the “Hello” singer to perform at her 2017 nuptials to hedge-fund manager James Matthews, but then “Pippa realized how expensive she’d be!” a source close to Middleton reveals exclusively in the new issue of Us Weekly. (Stars of the Grammy winner’s caliber can command $ 1 million for a private performance.)

Duchess Kate’s younger sister, now looking for a different singer, “has been really hands-on” planning her wedding, continues the source. On September 13, she spent an hour at London’s Lavender Green Flowers looking at ivory and lace bridal bouquets, says the friend: “Pippa took tons of photos on her phone and was really excited.”

The final look will fit the theme of the “elegant” English countryside event in early summer. The source continues that it won’t be a lavish: “Pippa doesn’t want it to be too expensive or look gaudy.”

As Us previously reported, Duchess Kate likely won’t steal the show as a bridesmaid. The sisters don't want the wedding "to turn into a circus," says an insider, so Kate will likely read "or have some other smaller role."

Middleton and Matthews, 41, got engaged July 17 during a vacation to England's picturesque Lake District. During a stroll, the wealthy financier dropped to one knee and presented Middleton, who's currently writing a cookbook, with a 4.5-carat Asscher-cut ring. "Pippa was surprised," a friend told Us at the time. "It was absolutely perfect."
