BAY AREA, CA – Habit Burger Grill restaurants, with several nearby locations on the Peninsula, is partnering again with No Kid Hungry to raise funds to provide healthy meals to kids across the nation who are unsure of their next meal.

Customers who donate $2 or more to the No Kid Hungry campaign will receive a free Charburger with Cheese certificate, good on a return visit now through the end of September.

One in five kids in the U.S. struggles with hunger, company officials said.

“We don’t take for granted the value of a quality meal, and for millions of Americans, especially children, those meals don’t always come easily. That’s why supporting No Kid Hungry is so important to us, and why we want to give something back to the communities we serve and our loyal guests who support this effort,” said Russ Bendel, Habit Burger Grill Chief executive officer.

Last year, The Habit contributed $200,000 to No Kid Hungry, providing more than 2 million meals to kids, officials said.

Today, on Sept. 1, Bendel was joined by No Kid Hungry executives to ring the NASDAQ opening bell together to call attention to the issue of childhood hunger in America.

The first Habit Burger Grill opened in Santa Barbara, California in 1969 and has since grown to more than 150 restaurants in 16 markets throughout California, Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, Utah, Virginia and Washington.
