Young underwent surgery of his bilateral core and right-sided adductor Tuesday and is expected to be fully recovered in eight weeks, MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan reports.
Essentially it was surgery on his pelvis and groin area. He will be at full strength for spring training, so this is minor news. Twenty one of his 34 appearances were out of the bullpen this year, and the gap in productivity (4.13 ERA as a reliever, 7.39 ERA as a starter) should ensure that he remains primarily a bullpen piece in 2017.
